Chongqing Instrument Materials Research Institute is located in the beautiful foot of Jinyun Mountain, established in 1961, the only professional instrument functional materials research and pilot of the research institutes.

Since 1999, Chongqing Instrument Materials Research Institute has been transformed into hi-tech enterprises with modern enterprise management concepts, and achieved remarkable results. After years of development, the institute in three research and development areas of instrument temperature materials and application technology, metal functional materials, sensors, sensitive materials and components has a strong technical advantage, ranking the leading position in China. A high level of engineering and industrial technology comes from a high level of scientific research. Chongqing Instrument Materials Research Institute completed more than 700 items of research projects, access to more than 170 items of awards, to declare more than 10 patents. Product quality management system obtained GB/T190001-2000 quality management system certification and GJB/Z9001A-2001 GJB quality management system certification.

With Japan, Germany, Russia, the United States, Pakistan and other countries the institute has established long-term international cooperation. At the same time, using its influence and position in the industry, with its hosting of the "Functional Material" scholarly journals, "Functional Materials Information" Technical Journal, "China Conference on Functional Materials and Applications", "Functional Materials of China Network," and anchored the Instrument Functional Materials Institute, the Association, the product quality supervision and test center, standardization committees for the service platform, to actively carry out academic exchanges, personnel training, product quality supervision, quality, arbitration, judicial identification and open service etc.

In June 2000, ratified by the Department of Science and Technology, Chongqing Instrument Materials Research Institute as a support unit for the formation of National Instrument Engineering Technology Research Center for Functional Materials.
